The scenery in this shot is wonderful. I also like how many meaning I can see in it: the open door towards an unknown future, a departure or simply a happy end of a movie.
The posture of the figures, although central, an unusual position for portraits, suggests sensibility and something fragile. They both seem to linger in the moment and need to gather their strength to go on.
The black-white profile produces stronger feelings and lets the viewer focus on the idea, the concept instead of useless details. I like how you drew your image around the central figures. It sort of makes sense by focusing on them.
