In the darkness we all fear light.
Attempt at a lighting study where i tried to get a frightening light from below didn't really succeed i think.
A4 vellum with Mech pencils and 6b pencil.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactThis is deeply impacting, its strikes the viewer at first glance due the to the darkness of the piece and the deep contrast that follows through onto the face; there is barely light which captures the atmosphere and draws the viewers attention immediately to the eyes without spear of the angioush that appears.
This is truely a motive piece, I am astounded by the face so much as the emotion is carried by the shading bellow the eyes, the spotches of freakles, the dark eyes andt he detailed eye brows, the face looking extremely realistic and deep with detail.
The surronding black brings a ghostly like apperance to the cheek bones and shows glow upon the eyes and the lower hands - the bony like fingers add a sense of fuility and weakness to this piece, which further strikes the viewer.
Simply fasinating.
